Description
The core competencies along with literacy and numeracy foundations and essential content and concepts are at the centre of the redesign of curriculum and assessment. Core competencies are sets of intellectual, personal, and social and emotional proficiencies that all students need to develop in order to engage in deep learning and life-long learning. Through provincial consultation, three core competencies were identified. Posters created by the BC Ministry of Education.

Description
Cette leçon s'inscrit dans une leçon sur la poésie comme moyen d'expression de notre ressenti, de nos émotions etc. Les activités sont fondées sur l'étude de poèmes d'élèves francophones, simples, accessibles, du recueil Hochelaga mon quartier. Les poèmes d'enfants montrent que l'expression poétique est accessible à tous, et peut entrer dans notre quotidien. L'objectif pour cette leçon est de familiariser les étudiants avec l'utilisation d'image (comparaison) et la phrase exclamative pour faire passer une charge émotionnelle dans un message.

This lesson uses the Site C Dam review by the BC Utilities Commission as a case study to: • find out more about megaprojects in BC • ask questions about where our power comes from and energy security in general • delve into the November 2018 BC Utilities Commission Report on the Site C Dam project • understand how the history and issues around the Site C dam relates to themes in Social Studies, and anticipate what the government is going to do next.
