- This assignment creates awareness around homophobic bullying in secondary schools and the devastating consequences it has for some youth. Furthermore, it encourages students to promote a learning environment that is welcoming and accepting of everyone. After hearing some of the statistics around LGBTQ youth suicide and depression, students will learn about the “It Gets Better” project started by Dan Savage, an author and newspaper columnist from the USA. This project asks students to reflect on the harmful effects of homophobic bullying and invites them to promote a school environment that allows people to be themselves free of judgment and harassment. - Activity involves students designing and creating a handbook that outlines various aspects of child development (physical, cognitive, and social) and explores ways to encourage development in those areas. Activity will take place over several weeks, during which students will participate in class instruction, group activities and presentations, and individual research, all of which will culminate in their "Child Development Handbook".

- The SLC eco-social education resources have been designed to empower youth through solution-oriented approaches to the environmental and social issues facing society today. SLC is comprised of five independent, interchangeable modules that focus on developing core values for an environmentally sustainable and socially just worldview. Each module includes a lesson plan, videos, and classroom activities, as well as eight student inquiry & project-based 'Action Packs' that explore sustainability topics, providing current research links, experiential community activities and hands-on actions to develop students’ core competencies in critical and creative thinking, communication, and personal and social responsibility.
