- Description
- “The Stormbringers WW1" and "Duty Valour Sacrifice WW2" are computer simulations that allow students to experience World War One and World War Two events through the eyes of a Canadian soldier. Students are faced with the same challenges actual Canadian soldiers faced, month by month, year by year. From initial training camps, through overseas training, and through then every Canadian battle and campaign in each war. Both simulation programs are completely free - no fees, no registration needed, no log in, just access it on line and go!

- “The Stormbringers WW1" allows students to experience World War One events through the eyes of a Canadian soldier. It includes over 400 screens, 60 tests and challenges, authentic letters and diary entries and over 1000 actual WW1 images. As students progress through the simulation they are faced with the same challenges actual Canadian soldiers faced, month by month, year by year. From initial training camps, through overseas training, and through then every Canadian battle and campaign in the war. Students learn about the lives of individual servicemen, through authentic letters, memoirs and diary entries, as well as about the major Canadian and world events through the entire war. “Duty, Valour, Sacrifice WW2” goes one step further. It allows students to select which service they will enlist in – the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy or Royal Canadian Air Force. As with “The Stormbringers”, students progress through the entire war from a Canadian perspective, from enlisting, training camps, to service overseas. The simulation includes over 800 screens, 160 tests and challenges, authentic letters and diary entries and over 2000 actual WW2 images. As students progress through the simulation they learn about the experiences of individual servicemen, as well as about the major Canadian and world events in the war. The programs have been meticulously researched over five years and are currently being field tested by Ontario High School students. Both simulation programs are completely free - no fees, no registration needed, no log in, just access it on line and go! It's my small gift to the men and women who gave so much for us in the war. I want their stories to live on and I want our students to understand and to appreciate what these men and women went through on our behalf.
