- The SLC eco-social education resources have been designed to empower youth through solution-oriented approaches to the environmental and social issues facing society today. SLC is comprised of five independent, interchangeable modules that focus on developing core values for an environmentally sustainable and socially just worldview. Each module includes a lesson plan, videos, and classroom activities, as well as eight student inquiry & project-based 'Action Packs' that explore sustainability topics, providing current research links, experiential community activities and hands-on actions to develop students’ core competencies in critical and creative thinking, communication, and personal and social responsibility. - Incorporating a worm bin into the classroom provides a unique way for students to look at the life cycle of a worm up close as well as investigate how the worm works to support a healthy environment. It lends several ideas for Cross-Curricular activities including ELA, SS, PE, Applied Skills and Design and more.
