- Lesson activities to accompany the vignette "Bloody Sunday” from the acclaimed Knowledge Network series; Working People: A History of Labour in British Columbia produced by Landrock Entertainment. The vignette explores the events of June 19th, 1938 when the unemployed men of Vancouver occupied the Hotel Georgia, the Art Gallery and the Canadian Post Office to force local and provincial governments to deal with the unemployment crisis and the cuts in relief programs. This is a unit created by the Labour History Project, a group of retired and current British Columbia teachers collaborating to develop a series of lesson plans, activities, and workshops focused on labour studies and labour history. Many Aboriginal groups have participated in civil disobedience movements that have resulted in major achievements for them and for the environment.
