Forced to Fight: is an interactive online resource designed for students between the ages of 13-18. The resource helps facilitate understanding of IHL and humanitarian issues and allows the user to experience what it is like for young people living in situations of armed conflict around the world. Teachers can use this resource in collaboration with the lesson plans available in the teaching resources links or they can choose to use it as a stand-alone activity to trigger critical thinking and classroom discussion on issues related to armed conflict. - Printing Like a Pro! Printing Like a Pro! is a free cognitively-based printing program for the primary grades. It is evidence-based and designed for classroom use and for use with students who have printing/handwriting challenges. This program uses a developmental framework, teaching letters from easiest to hardest to form. Cognitive strategies include use of self-talk, and self-reflection and evaluation with a focus on key strategies for neat printing. Worksheet sets include letters, words, and sight word sentences as well as numbers. - The vignettes in the series explore the historical perspectives on key labor issues of the late 19th and 20th century in British Columbia. Multiple perspectives of gender, ethnicity and social class are explored in the series as they relate to the labor history of British Columbia. Episodes are 2-3 minutes in length and are suitable for introduction and enrichment of the historical events and time periods. The content is appropriate for secondary classes but may also be used with intermediate grades as well.
