En plus de lire le récit, les enfants peuvent s'amuser à colorier les illustrations qui égaient la publication. En outre, Claire et son grand-père sert de point de départ à d'autres activités connexes que les enseignants peuvent intégrer au programme pédagogique actuel. Il y a certes plusieurs façons de présenter ce sujet aux élèves afin de le rendre intéressant. Voici quelques activités que l'on suggère.

Description
This lesson is the introduction to a unit on Ancient Civilizations and introducing Ancient Rome. This lesson fits in with the Historical Thinking Project’s Big 6, specifically the concepts Establish Historical Significance as well as Historical Perspectives. Historical significance depends on any given student’s perspective on history. To have a historical perspective as a modern student can be challenging with this generation immersed in technology. Some historical landmarks included, but not limited to are the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Baths of Caracalla, Saint Peters Basilica, the Temple of Saturn the Roman Forum, the Vatican, Circus Maximus, Piazza Navona, Castel Sant’Angelo and St John in the Lateran. As Grade 7 curricular content, this exercise is focused on Ancient civilizations up until 7th Century, so it would be ideal to choose landmarks within this time period, but up to the discretion of the teacher.

Voices into Action is an online, bilingual, ERAC approved curriculum-based educational resource providing students with information on issues regarding human rights, prejudice, and hatred. Designed by curriculum experts, this program utilizes a wide variety of media (short documentary style films and compelling visuals) to present information on a history of human suffering, stemming from social injustice that is still a growing problem today. While meeting curriculum requirements, you can help students become better people, and make your classroom a better place for learning. Our media resources, along with teacher-led dialogue, give students many perspectives to consider, with opportunities for critical thinking and creative response. By understanding the history of human rights issues in Canada and around the world, they will also gain insight into current issues that occur in their world and their classrooms.
