Description
The National Inventory of School District Interventions in Support of LGBTQ Student Wellbeing was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of school-system interventions in reducing stigma and improving resilience of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and Two-Spirit, and queer and questioning (LGBTQ) students. It was conducted as part of the larger research program led by Dr. Elizabeth Saewyc at SARAVYC, UBC. The goal of this study was to identify which interventions have been implemented across Canada through an online survey of school district Superintendents/Directors, and what benefits were associated with the various interventions. The survey covered a range of possible interventions in support of LGBTQ students: LGBTQ-inclusive policy, generic and LGBTQ-specific harassment procedures, course content, GSAs, generic and LGBTQ-themed events, professional development, and teaching resources. This, and the rise of populist movements in Europe and North America, has led unions to develop activities engaging schools, local communities, authorities, etc. to promote the rights of migrants and build inclusive schools and communities. With the support of Education International (EI), exchange visits, information sharing and peer-learning activities allowed education unions to inspire each other and explore synergies across borders. This toolkit aims to build on these experiences and facilitate education unions to develop their work in this area. It also assists unions by exploring the issues around integrating migrants and refugees in education and sharing what others have been doing in this domain.

Cette ressource est un outil pour aider les étudiants à mieux écrire des productions écrites. Le Petit Lexique est une référence qui permet de trouver le mot juste qui traduit l’idée désirant être véhiculée. Cette ressource illustre les différentes étapes de la composition. Au départ pour faire germer des idées avant de commencer un texte, durant le développement, pour faire progresser le texte, et finalement, pour réviser et améliorer le texte. Le recueil décompose les différentes parties du texte narratif (récit d’aventure, le conte ou la nouvelle). La situation initiale est composée par la notion du temps, le lieu et le personnage. Le développement du récit est illustré par des exemples liés aux événements, les réactions et actions du personnage et finalement, la situation finale offre des exemples liés au dénouement (l’échec ou la réussite).

Do you want to make a parent cry when they get a report on their child, and cry in a good way? Want to honour a child and their family? Want to capture learning and make it visible? Want to be a reflective teacher? A pedagogical narration is something I wrote on each child in my classroom this year as a formal report. It is a story that allows one to see inside a child’s imagination and thinking. It allows teachers to link the demonstrated knowledge of the child to the curriculum and core competencies. It's a wonderful way to honour the child.
