Description: The Solve to Outbreak Lab follows the BC’s New Curriculum for Grade 8 science. Sequentially, this lab would be part of the Grade 8 Biology unit, following lessons regarding microbes, the immune system, and vaccinations and antibiotics. Description: This is a lesson plan and worksheet on using titles and headings to understand non-fiction text, and make predictions. This lesson likens titles and headings and titles to roadsigns (they tell you where you are going and what is next) and has an accompanying worksheet for students to complete to show their understanding of how a text is organized under headings, and how to use them to make predictions or find specific information.
