The lesson examines the working life of at the Burrard Dry Dock during the Second World War, when women entered the workforce in unheard of numbers. Additional lesson material deals with photographic and poster material related to women’s roles in the war effort. This is a unit created by the Labour History Project, a group of retired and current British Columbia teachers collaborating to develop a series of lesson plans, activities, and workshops focused on labour studies and labour history.
